Lustigsgården

Welcome to Lustigsgården bed & breakfast in Rättvik, we are open all year around!

Lustigsgården have a history dating back to the 1700-hundreds, when a soldier named Lustig got some ground here from the Swedish queen. Lustigsgården has been a hostel in different shapes since the late 1800-hundred, so it has a long history. It is built in typical Swedish red painted wooden buildings and we are located in a nice area just 1 km from the town centre of Rättvik. Today we have 14 individual and personal decorated rooms with a mix of recycled and modern furniture’s and local details from Dalarna. Most of our rooms have a nice panorama view of Lake Siljan. We are a bed&breakfast and not a hotel so we do not have all the facilities as you can find at a hotel. All of our rooms are on the second floor and we have only stairs, no elevator. Some of the rooms are a bit small and they do not have any seating area, but we have common areas with sofas and relaxing areas.

In the summertime we have our nice veranda and our garden where you can relax in the sun from noon until the sunset, on sunny days. Here in Rättvik there are a lot of things to see and do. There are hike and bike tracks just around the corner from us in different length and levels. We have some bikes for rent and maps and a lot of tips where to go.

In Rättvik you find a nice beach, restaurants, cafés, bowling, canoes for rent, go-cart, golf course etc. The factory were they make the famous Dalahorse is just 20 minutes drive away. Tell us want you want to see and do and we help you to explore the area.

In the wintertime there are a lot of ski tracks for cross country skiing, trails for snowshoe hikes, nice lakes for ice-fishing and on Lake Siljan you can skate on natural ice on a plowed track. We have equipment for rent for all these activities. There is a floating sauna on Siljan which you can rent and for the brave one there is a hole in the ice for a bath.

We would love to share our favorites of restaurants and what to see and do, with you, just ask us. We want you to enjoy Rättvik and Dalarna as much as we do and we are looking forward to have you as our guests. Welcome to Lustigsgården!
